Resident Kitchen

At Hazelbrook Care Home in Leicester, our resident kitchen provides a familiar and practical space where residents can take part in everyday routines in a safe, supported way. Designed to feel homely and accessible, the kitchen gives residents the opportunity to prepare drinks, help with simple food preparation or spend time in a setting that feels natural and purposeful. Support is always shaped around each person’s needs, abilities and confidence.

Supporting Independence Safely

For people living with complex care needs or mental health and neurological conditions, the resident kitchen can play an important role in supporting confidence, independence and wellbeing. Safety features and individual risk assessments help make the space accessible and secure for residents with different abilities, while staff remain close by to offer respectful support when needed.

Whether someone is making a morning cup of tea, preparing a favourite snack or spending time with family nearby, the kitchen encourages familiar routines at a pace that feels right for them. It also offers a natural setting for informal conversation and connection, helping residents take part in daily life while preserving privacy, choice and autonomy.
